Maithe Vallejos | BTHOVEEN
My name is Maithe Vallejos, I am 23 years old, and I am currently an Erasmus student at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences from my home university, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos in Madrid.
I am currently developing the foundation for Bthooven, a social initiative aimed at transforming pediatric audiology in Peru. At Bthooven, we are working to provide a “second life for sound.” The goal is to develop a non-profit model that supplies high-quality, refurbished hearing aids to low-to-middle-income families in Lima. By using a circular economy approach, we can provide these essential medical devices at symbolic costs, ensuring that a child’s right to hear is never dictated by their family’s income. Beyond the technology, Bthooven is designed to be a family-centered hub that provides the empathy and diagnostic orientation that is currently missing in the private sector.
As part of the Boost Your Business minor, I am focused on moving my concept from the “idea stage” into a structured, scalable reality. I am dedicated to researching the technical and social feasibility of this model to ensure it creates a lasting impact.
I enjoy collaborating with fellow students and entrepreneurs on topics like social impact strategy, inclusive health policies, and international partnerships.
