Natalie van Wingerden

My name in Natalie van Wingerden, I am 21 years old and I currently live in Groningen where I study animation and illustration at Minerva Academy. I am originally from the Netherlands but I was raised in Slovakia, which is the country I call home.

The reason I decided to join the Boost Your Business Minor is because I feel that at art schools they don’t teach you enough about networking, selling yourself, being a freelancer or starting your own business, so most students after graduating have no idea how to make money selling their art. I don’t want to have to figure that out all by myself after graduating, which is why I joined.

I want to open my own art studio where I would make animations or illustrations for clients, or sell some of my personal work. I want to help people visualise their ideas, explain their services or promote products.

I am really enjoying being surrounded by like-minded individuals who inspire me with all their ideas and business plans. I am learning many important things and cant wait to see where this journey will lead me.
